Anise is an ingredient in American Heritage® Chocolate and adds a bit of surprise in this classic biscotti drizzled and paved in American Heritage® Chocolate.
Pre heat oven to 325 F
Mix together butter, sugar, anise seed, orange peel, and eggs in large bowl using a electric mixer.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
On cookie sheet lay out dough, make into rectangle.
Bake about 20 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes
Then cut into pieces 1/2 in wide. Place back into oven for another 15 minutes or until light brown.
Allow to cool.
Melt chocolate in microwave safe bowl, 30 sec increments until chocolate is melted stirring in between.
Place wax paper on a baking sheet and also on a plate. Pour chocolate onto wax paper and dip biscotti in chocolate. Place on wax paper covered baking sheet. When all dipped, scrape excess chocolate into a snack bag and cut small corner off of bottom end. Drizzle chocolate over biscotti on sheet.
Place in refrigerator to set chocolate.
Serve with your favorite hot beverage!!
