Delicious summer treat featuring Coconut, toasted almonds, and of course American Heritage® Chocolate!
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper
Whip egg whites to soft peak. Add sugar slowly with the mixer running until incorporated and sugar is dissolved.
Add vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt
Fold coconut. Spread mixture evenly into baking sheet. Spread the top with chopped almonds, gently pressing them into the coconut.
Bake until the coconut turns golden brown around the edges, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool to room temperature.
When cooled, melt 2/3 of the chocolate over a water bath. Once melted, remove chocolate from hear and add remaining chocolate, and mix until melted. Drizzle the chocolate over the coconut and almonds. Refrigerate until chocolate sets.
Cut into 48 squares. Store in airtight container.
