This original recipe can be found in Patrick Lamb’s, The Compleat Court Cook, from 1731. Updated for the modern kitchen, this tart has a wonderful texture due to the creaminess of the chocolate and heavy cream. The most interesting thing is the use of rice flour, which acts as a thickener, but also provides another layer of texture.
