    CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH BLUEBERRIES AND BANANA

    The Netherlands has a longstanding tradition of chocolate excellence. Our friend Sylvia from Amsterdam makes this banana and blueberry chocolate cake whenever she wants a little fruit with her chocolate. Added bonus: crunchy banana chip topping. Delicious.

    ingredients
    • 1 1/3 cup American Heritage® Chocolate Block
    • 3 eggs
    • 2/3 oatmeal flour
    • 2/3 almond flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
    • 3 bananas
    • 2 cups fresh blueberries
    • ½ cup crème fraiche
    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 180 C (356 F)

    Step 2

    Line a pie mold with baking paper

    Step 3

    Melt 1 and 1/8 cup of AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Block in a double boiler (grated)

    Step 4

    Add 2 cups of fresh blueberries into the melted chocolate with a spatula

    Step 5

    Combine 2/3 cup oatmeal flour with 2/3 cup almond flour and 2 teaspoons baking soda in a mixing bowl

    Step 6

    Add 3 bananas, 3 eggs and 2 tablespoons coconut oil into a blender and mix until smooth

    Step 7

    Combine the banana mixture, chocolate blueberry mixture and flour mixture to create a batter

    Step 8

    Pour the batter into the pie mold and bake it for 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven

    Step 9

    Let it cool down for two hours

    Step 10

    To make the topping:
    Combine ¼ cup melted AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Block with ½ cup crème fraiche

    Step 11

    Slather on top of the cake and decorate with banana chips
